Sherrie is an accomplished English teacher with 12 years of experience in the educational field. She has worked in two different schools, gaining valuable expertise across Key Stages 3-5. Throughout her career, Sherrie has embarked on a journey of growth and advancement within English leadership.

Starting as an English Key Stage 3 lead, Sherrie's dedication propelled her through various leadership roles. She progressed to become the English Curriculum Lead, then Assistant Director of Learning for English, and eventually assumed the position of Director of Learning. Her commitment to excellence in literacy education led to her appointment as the Curriculum Lead for the Literacy Subject Suite. Recently, Sherrie achieved another milestone in her career by being promoted to Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum. In this role, she is responsible for developing the whole school and subject curriculum intent while overseeing its implementation and spearheading RFSS' Literacy journey. Sherrie takes great pleasure in witnessing the transformation of teaching from a mere concept on paper to a vibrant reality in the classroom.

During our most recent Ofsted inspection, Sherrie's leadership in English was praised, particularly for her exemplary work on the English curriculum. Complementing her teaching experience, she has also completed her NPQ in 'Leading Teaching Development,' with a specific focus on improving classroom planning and teaching through professional development. Sherrie's passion lies in unlocking the potential of every student, regardless of their starting point, and fostering a genuine love for learning.

Beyond her professional commitments at RFSS, Sherrie resides in Stratford-Upon-Avon with her husband, who is a primary school teacher, and their rambunctious Miniature Schnauzer named Socrates. She finds joy in attending live music events, breaking out of escape rooms, exploring literature, art, and immersing herself in the world of film.
