Safeguarding

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Child protection is part of the safeguarding process. It focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering, or likely to suffer significant harm. This includes child protection procedures which detail how to respond to concerns about a child.

Safeguarding at RFSS

RFSS is committed to safeguarding and promotes the welfare of children and young people, expecting all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The safety and welfare of our staff and students is of paramount importance to all those involved in education. We have a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads who are responsible for leading on safeguarding. However, students can, and do, form positive relationships with school staff, and will at times view them as significant and trustworthy adults. We encourage students to talk to staff about anything that worries them, and staff will always act in the best interests of students.
