This is an exciting time because in September we will begin the first year 11 our school has ever had. What an amazing opportunity to offer the very best we can to our students, as they prepare to move on to further education, apprenticeships or full time employed work.
All that we do at RFSS is aimed towards the future of our students. We endeavour to prepare them for adulthood and the world of work, not only through our curriculum, but very specifically by delivering a thorough, complete and engaging careers programme, which begins in year 7 and continues through to sixth form and beyond.
It is our passionate belief
that every child has the
right to achieve their very
best in whatever field of
work they pursue.
It is our passionate belief that every child has the right to achieve their very best in whatever field of work they pursue. With that in mind, it is our intention that every child is offered relevant and engaging career opportunities that are tailored towards their individual skills and needs.
The Gatsby Benchmarks are a statutory framework consisting of 8 guidelines, which define the very best careers provision a secondary school can offer its students. The 8 benchmarks are as follows:
A stable careers programme.
Learning from career and labour market information.
Addressing the needs of each pupil.
Linking curriculum learning to careers.
Encounters with employers and employees.
Experiences of workplaces.
Encounters with further and higher education.

LMI (Labout Market Information)
Current labour market information is essential in helping our students find a career that is right for them.
At RFSS we regularly monitor the LMI for our county to ensure that we are up-to-date with the world of work in your area.
